Hort Foundation supports study abroad for HHU students

Once again this year, the Hedwig and Waldemar Hort Scholarship Foundation is making it possible for HHU students from all faculties to spend up to three months studying at home or abroad.Current applications for scholarships are due by July 14, 2023.

Students from all faculties of HHU from the fourth semester onwards can apply for the Hort Foundation scholarships: Support is provided for work on scientific topics or own projects within the framework of a study stay of a maximum of three months in Germany or abroad. Examples include excursions to other universities or visits to (inter)national archives and libraries. The condition for a scholarship is good academic performance (grade point average better than 2.5); not supported are: Semesters abroad, language semesters or collaborative projects.

Application via GFFU Applications must be submitted by July 14, 2023 to the Gesellschaft von Freunden und Förderern der HHU e.V. (GFFU), which oversees the Hort Foundation. In addition to CV and study/examination certificates, the application must also be accompanied by a statement of anticipated costs. Shortlisted applicants will give a brief 10-minute oral report on their project to the Board of Trustees at the end of August; the decision will be communicated shortly thereafter.

About the Hort Scholarship Foundation
The Hedwig and Waldemar Hort Scholarship Foundation, administered by the Society of Friends and Sponsors of the University of Düsseldorf, has awarded scholarships to students at Heinrich Heine University every year since 1993. Since the first award in 1993, the Hort Scholarship Foundation has initiated over 100 scholarships or grants. The support enables students to acquire additional knowledge or to work on scientific topics during a study stay of several weeks in Germany or abroad.
