Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf is participating in the “Dialogue-oriented Service Procedure” (DoSV) realised by the University Admissions Foundation (Stiftung für Hochschulzulassung) (German only) in the summer semester 2026 for the following subjects:

  • Economics (Bachelor)

The DoSV is used for study programmes with local admission restrictions (admission restrictions only at certain universities). Information about the application phase can be found on the hochschulstart.de website (German only). The application period runs from 3 November 2025 to 15 January 2026.

Important
Applicants who wish to apply for the subjects listed above without the German Abitur school-leaving qualification should note the information here.

The application process comprises two steps:

1. Register in the hochschulstart portal. You will then receive a BID (applicant identification number) and a BAN (applicant authentication number).

2. Apply via the Heinrich Heine University application portal, stating your BID and BAN.

Further information can be found in the checklist (German only).

Applicants who are still minors at the start of the lecture period (see here for lecture period dates) may be considered in a special quota under certain circumstances.

  • You can find further applicable cities and districts here (German only)

Applicants who have already completed a degree in another subject at a German university must upload their degree certificate and a written statement explaining why they wish to apply for a second degree to the application portal before the application deadline. Generally, the same criteria and rules apply as for the study programmes awarded via hochschulstartMore information is available here (German only).

If you have reached the age of 55 by January 15 for an application for the summer semester or by July 15 for an application for the winter semester, your application can only be included in the allocation process if there are serious academic or professional reasons for the intended course of study, taking into account your personal situation. To do so, you must upload an informal letter (with supporting documentation, if applicable) and explain your reasons.
