Yes, the card must be activated within four weeks. If you do not activate the card, it will automatically be cancelled for security reasons and you will need to order a replacement, which is subject to a fee. The HHU Card will be sent via postal services to all enroled regular students.

You can block your card in the identifcation management portal (IDM - idm.hhu.de). It can take up to 24 hours until all functions of your card have been deactivated.
